The University of East Anglia (UEA) offers a BA in International Development with Economics. On the full-time undergraduate degree students learn effective development policy and practice, with a specific focus on economics. The course teaches how inequalities arise as well as investigates how policies and processes and work to reduce them. Degree modules on the BA international Development Economics at UEA include evidence in international development and geography, economics for development and globalisation and economic development. The degree can be taken in four years with a year abroad. On the year abroad students’ study at an overseas university in international development or in a related discipline. Students on the BA International Development with Economics at UEA are encouraged to engage critically with the theories of global economics and development as well the causes of global poverty.

UK applicants for the BA in International Development with Economics at UEA need A levels graded at ABB or BBB. Applicants also need grade C in Maths and English at GCSE level. BTEC grades DDM with some exceptions are also considered. European Baccalaureate applicants need a score of 75% or above. Students who have English as a foreign language need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components). If an applicant does not meet the entry requirements, UEA offers a foundation year programme.

For UK students, full-time fees for the BA in International Development with Economics at UEA are 9,250 GBP per year. For international students, fees are around 15,500 GBP a year. Fees may be reduced during the year abroad. UEA has a range of scholarships and bursaries to support students.
