Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, offers a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission: North Central Association. Every student in the program must complete a Capstone project and pass the following courses: Evidence Based Practice & Research Methods in the Criminal Justice
Professions; Introduction to Grant Writing for Nonprofits; Training & Development; Introduction to Public Administration; Government & Nonprofit Budgeting; Ethics & Leadership in Public Safety Agencies; and Introduction to Emergency Management & Homeland Security. In addition, students choose either Homeland security or emergency management and disaster response as an area of concentration for elective coursework.
