At Coventry University, the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing runs a unique Bachelor of Science program in Disaster Management and Emergency Planning. The program, which takes three years to complete, has been run by the University for over two decades and has hired highly experienced faculty members to shape the curriculum. More specifically, the curriculum is mapped against the National Occupational Standards for Civil Contingencies which was developed by the Emergency Planning Society of the UK. Consequently, students who graduate from this program are well-equipped for the professional world and find it easy to get a job even though they only hold undergraduate degrees.

Some of the core courses students undertake include Humanitarian Relief and Disaster Management, Numerical and Spatial Skills, Field Operations and Project Management, and Employment Skills. Students also have the opportunity to develop highly-valued practical skills in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) which are commonly used in disaster interventions.

Entry Requirements: The University sets a different set of requirements for home, EU, and overseas students. All foreign students (both EU and non-EU) are required to take an English as a Foreign Language exam such as IELTS with the minimum mark being 6.0.

Fees and scholarships: Annual tuition costs amount to £9,250 for UK and EU students, while international students pay £13,150. Coventry University offers a range of partial tuition scholarships to both home and international students.
