The Master of Advanced Studies in Humanitarian Logistics and Management (MASHLM) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland, is a part-time executive programme specifically designed for humanitarian professionals who want to build capacity and advance their careers while remaining active in the field. The programme delivers education across supply chain management, process and project management, strategic management and humanitarian action.

Participants attend six intensive in-person teaching blocks in Lugano, with faculty drawn from leading universities and organisations including MIT, Georgia Tech, USAID and the Red Cross. Students also earn a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt certification alongside the master’s degree, adding significant professional value. The MASHLM attracts professionals from across the humanitarian sector — including logistics, procurement, operations, HR, ICT and child protection — from organisations such as the World Food Programme, the Norwegian Refugee Council and national NGOs. Alumni consistently report career advancement, greater responsibility and promotion within their organisations following completion of the programme.
